War's Poem

About this work

In 1995 Sheri Jo had a very spiritual experience. She wrote this poem and then painted, "War; The Queen of Turmoil as part of a series called The Kingdom of the Soul. Through this collection of portraits and poems Sheri Jo tells and shows the meaning behind feelings when life gets difficult. War open's up the dark side of life and gives us a good hard look on what is real and what is just an illusion we tell ourselves to avoid looking at what we believe is the worst part of ourselves. When in fact it is our own judgment which decides good from bad and not some devil out there. Oh what the world could be if only we would look to the light!
