In the warming weather of the spring thaw, the ice covering the lake from a long winter would begin to crack and breakup. The excitement of spring could be felt in the air. The honk of geese and visions of ducks flying over the water was a big part of artist Sheri Jo Posselt's life growing up on the shores of Lake Poygan. The smell of the wet earth tickling the senses of her memories past.
